Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and develop research instruments (e.g., surveys, interview guides) aligned with project objectives, ensuring clarity between qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Support the development of data collection tools and techniques across diverse methodologies, including survey and statistical modeling.
- Manage data collection processes, including administering in-depth interviews or surveys.
- Clean, manage, and impute large datasets (e.g., billing, meter, census data) to ensure data integrity.
- Conduct data analysis using tools like Excel, R, or Python, calculating basic statistics and summarizing qualitative data to generate insights.
- Develop databases and aggregate data from multiple sources, including third-party datasets, to support research efforts.
- Create visual reports, charts, and graphics to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate with peers to maintain high standards of quality, including reviewing and refining code, data, and reports.
- Manage project tasks, timelines, and deliverables to ensure on-time, on-budget completion.
- Provide regular updates to project leads, flagging potential roadblocks or resource needs.
- Advocate for professional development and contribute to a collaborative, supportive team environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Sciences, Economics, Environmental Studies, Statistics, Marketing).
- 3+ years of experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods, including instrument design, survey administration, and statistical analysis.
- Proficiency in data management and analysis tools such as Excel, R, SPSS, or similar.
- Experience with large datasets (e.g., billing data, census data) and third-party data sources is a plus.
- Excellent reporting writing skills - writing narratives and stories to deliver insights
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality, accurate results.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex findings into actionable insights for clients.
- Initiative and ability to work collaboratively as a team member and self-direct on numerous and varied assignments; proactive in reaching out for assistance or clarification.
- Some travel within US and Canada will be required
